Fold it in five steps

  1. Print one page, landscape, at 100% (not "fit to page").
  2. Fold it in half the long way and unfold. Fold it in half the short way, then fold each end back to the middle, and unfold.
  3. Fold it in half the short way again and cut along the dashed line, from the fold to the middle only.
  4. Open it, fold it the long way with the pages outside, and push the two ends together. The cut opens into a diamond.
  5. Keep pushing until it lies flat as a booklet, and fold it closed with the front cover on top.

How to use it

  • The top row prints upside down on purpose. Once folded, every page reads the right way up.
  • Write or draw on it before you fold, or fold it first to see which page is which, then unfold and fill it in.
  • Photocopy the finished sheet to make more copies. That is how zines have always been shared.

Pinterest’s 2026 Hobbies Trend Report saw searches for digital zine design up 433% and printable templates up 507%. Set in Instrument Serif and Switzer. The template is ours and free to print and share.

Free to use in personal and commercial work. No credit needed, though a link back is always nice.
