About Sundry Mill
Sundry Mill is a small, independent software studio. We make apps for Windows and tools for the web, and this site is where we publish everything around them: step by step guides, a free library of design resources made in code, and daily puzzles from our games. This page says what is here, how it is made and checked, and how to reach us.
What is on this site
- The blog: guides for recording, sharing and presenting on a Windows PC, and build notes on how we make the apps. Each guide starts with the free ways to do the job, names its sources with links, and carries the date it was published.
- The library: colour palettes, font pairings, UI pieces, motion loops, cursors, a wallpaper, cheat sheets and two layouts. Each page has the thing itself (live where it can be), every code ready to copy, how to use it, when it fits and when it does not, and a worked example. All of it is free to use in personal and commercial work.
- The games: five free daily puzzles, a word ladder, a themed word search, a number path, a star battle and a binary puzzle. One go a day, no account, and your streak kept in your own browser.
- The apps, each on its own site: Framok, a screen recorder for Windows that zooms in on every click; Qulok, which hides everything but the windows you pick; novrl, clickable product demos from screenshots; Thumpkin, a beat maker in the browser; and Lullpane, free animated wallpapers. Our free web tools are Reyoy, Wayvl and Puplr.
- The studio builds websites for small businesses, and Build with us is where to bring an idea for an app or a tool.
How the content is made
Everything here is made by the studio for this site, and nothing is copied from other sites.
- Guides are checked against the source. Settings, limits and prices are checked against the maker's own documentation, and each post links to the pages it relied on. When a tool changes, the post is updated.
- Library pages run the code they show. The preview on each page is drawn by the same HTML and CSS you copy, so what you try is what you get. Contrast figures for every colour pair are computed with the WCAG 2 formula, and only pairs that pass are listed as readable.
- Fonts are linked, never handed out. Font pages link to the free official source (Google Fonts, Fontshare or the designer's own site), and font files are never offered as downloads here. Nothing we bought, such as textures or 3D renders, is ever offered as a download; our own cursors, loops, wallpaper and printables are.
- Trends are credited. Where a palette or an idea follows a published trend report, the page names and links it. Sundry Mill is not connected to Pinterest or to any company whose product a guide covers.
- Puzzles are checked before they ship. Each game's checks are described on the games page: one answer for the grid puzzles, everyday words for the word ladder.
Where our own apps come in
Some guides solve a problem that one of our apps also solves. When that happens, the free ways come first and are real options, and the app appears once, in a box at the end of the post, with its price. Framok costs USD 39 once or USD 5 a month; Qulok is USD 5 a month after a 7 day free trial, or USD 29 for life; Thumpkin is free, with Pro at USD 3 a month or USD 24 once. novrl, Lullpane, Reyoy, Wayvl and Puplr are free. Library pages carry at most one short line about a tool of ours, and nothing on them needs one.
Your privacy
You can read the blog, use the library and play the games without an account. Game stats and your light or dark theme stay in your own browser. The privacy page covers the forms, the apps and everything else in detail, and the terms cover the site and the mobile apps.
